A new transgender law in Iowa requires students, staff, parents and visitors to only use restrooms that correspond with their biological sex. Gov. Kim Reynolds signed the bill into law on Wednesday, which took effect immediately — meaning schools must comply. Load Error Republican House Speaker Pat Grassley said the law does allow districts to come up with their own plans and accommodate students that want more privacy. In a statement to KETV NewsWatch 7, Council Bluffs Community School District said the district will remain sensitive to the rights and privacy of all students as it complies with the law.
